Prayer and Emotional Healing
The Power of Prayer..

Prayer is not a method or technique. It is a natural need of all human beings just as eating, drinking, or breathing is. We are spiritual beings with a intimate need to be connected to one source. The source from which we came. In prayer we are making a connection to the spiritual world , so in praying we must pray from within ourselves, from our own spirit in order to complete a “oneness“. We must truly feel each thought and word as it comes forward, to it’s deepest emotion before we release it into God’s arms. It doesn’t have to be deeply thought of, only simply experienced.
Prayer is the human response to the divine reality. We find strength in prayer that we cannot get in any other way. When we open ourselves to a higher source and release all inside of us only then can we find the purest healing. Jesus said we are to pray always. Ephesians 6:18. Just as in breathing. If we are in a state of constant prayer we will view all things before us in a more rational and decisive way knowing that we are not alone. Trusting it is being heard. There is help beyond what we “think” is before us. There is more than what we see.
We have all been hurt or have experienced some sort of trauma in our lifetime. With a constant connection to prayer, through faith, we can become whole once again and live in harmony within ourselves. And this will expand in spirit to all others around us.
Prayer has within it a power that exceeds any thing we could ever imagine because of the source it is derived from. The same power that can raise the dead from their graves is available right now to each of us through prayer.
A prayer can be a petition. Although it is not just a place of wanting. It can be thankfulness. It can be something as lovely as just sharing a thought. It is a way of helping others when you know they are in need. And in it’s highest form it is in silence.
In the sacred writings God said; “Be still and know that I am God.” Sometimes we are afraid to be silent. We are afraid that if we sit in silence too long before God, we will see who we really are. We will know, and we don’t want to face this. But in this there is great healing. Because facing this, past the curtain of fear is where healing waits. Prayer is a safe place. A private place where there is the purest love. Away from all that is going on around us. A place of encouragement. To be who we truly are. And to get to know deeply the spirit of God and be transformed just by being in His presence.
Do you want balance in your life? Peace? Cleansing? Wholeness? Joy? Then you must find celebration in prayer. In sacred space, a holy time, when you will be uplifted to a place with God that is like no other. Guard that special time as a gift to yourself that will bring healing. A gift of recovery. Newness of heart and mind. Make this time special, the beautiful time that it is. Quiet and unrushed.
You can do little things that will make it even more special. A small bottle of pure essential oil to use, with a scent that reminds you of God’s deep love for you, is one of the best ways to make your prayer time special and absorb a deeper healing. A picture or object of nature that will point your mind to creation and the bigger picture in life. A notebook to write down all the things you experience and never want to forget. Or even just a completely peaceful, empty space. What ever you need to be of encouragement. The awesome thing about prayer is it is always with you. Always ready at a moments notice. You can steal a quiet moment away where ever you are, even right now…
And as in all things in life, when this becomes your habit, when this becomes ingrained in your ways, you will be building happiness for yourself. One prayer at a time. If you don’t know what it is like to be happy, don’t be afraid of being happy. Introduce yourself to it and then get to know it through prayer. God said you were meant to have this, so who else could say otherwise and be right?
Reach out in prayer. No one else can do this for you, you must decide. It may feel awkward at first if you have never tried, but in time and patience you will feel it open like a beautiful flower before you and there will be joy and unspeakable healing!
May you find a deeper knowing, a spiritual healing, and a intimate new life with God through prayer…this is my prayer for you.
   Just pray…
